Why tracking applications helps
Most job seekers lose track of where they applied, what resume version they used, and when they should follow up. A simple tracker helps you spot patterns. If every application is stuck at “applied,” the problem may be the resume. If you get interviews but no offers, the next improvement is probably interview prep.
What to track
At minimum, track the company, role, date applied, status, next follow-up date, and notes. Keep it simple enough that you will actually use it.
